Green Hills Shopping: Trader Joe's

Green Hills, Nashville, Tennessee, is known for some of the best shopping in the whole middle Tennessee area. And in recent months, the shopping has gotten even better.

Trader Joe's, a different kind of grocery store that specializes in natural and organic food lines, opened in Green Hills. Trader Joe's is located at 3909 Hillsboro Pike Nashville, TN. It's in the building previously occupied by Wild Oats, just south of The Mall at Green Hills.

Their food selection is unique in that many of their products are organic, healthy alternatives to the products you can buy at a traditional grocery stores. Yet their prices are surprisingly reasonable.

Trader Joe's arrival is just another example of the great shopping that can be found in the Green Hills area of Nashville.

The Icon and Casablanca Coffee

Casablanca Coffee is now open in the Gulch!

Casablanca is now located in The Icon in the Gulch, between Cantina Laredo and Urban Flats. It opened its doors in July and is now serving up some of the best coffee, frappes, pastries, and lunch dishes in Nashville. Parking is conveniently located in the Icon garage and is easily accessed from either 12th Ave S. or Division St.

The Gulch is an area at the southwest corner of downtown Nashville. For years it was an abandoned railyard with no residents and no commercial activity. Over the last ten years The Gulch has seen tremendous renovation. Several restaurants, retail and condo developments have been constructed and are now a thriving part of Nashville's social portfolio.

The Icon is an amenities driven, luxury condo development that clearly lives up to the meaning of its name "Icon". Its smart and stylish floor plans are only the beginning. With granite countertops, stained concrete floors, state of the art fitness centers, trendy social gathering areas, and two swimming pools, one of which boasts a rooftop view of downtown Nashville, the Icon will invite you, entice you, and satisfy your desire for downtown luxury living.

And now Casablanca Coffee, has become a part of this living, breathing community. It's a great gathering place if you're in the mood to hang out with friends, maybe listen to some light jazz, and feel the energy of one of Nashville's trendiest hot spots, The Gulch.

If you can’t tell, I’m excited about what’s happening in The Gulch, and I’m excited about sipping on my favorite java chip frappe when I’m there.

Browsing Nashville Homes for Sale

We recently made the decision to combine our Nashville real estate websites all into one. We had been marketing them by home type, and by area. But this grew into a much bigger task than we'd originally anticipated. So we combined the three sites:

RealEstateNorthNashville.com
RealEstateSouthNashville.com
and
Nashville-TN-Condos.com

all into one large real estate site:

MarketHillHomes.com

We're hoping that by combining these sites, we'll be able to better service the needs of our visitors searching for Nashville Homes. As the site grows, we will be adding new features and information to make searching for a home in Nashville even easier.

Hendersonville Home Sold!

My partner and I recently listed a home in Hendersonville TN. We received a full price offer on it in less than a week.

The Hendersonville real estate market has always been one of the strongest markets north of Nashville. Hendersonville is in Sumner county, and has easy access to I-65 via the Vietnam Veteran's Bypass (386). But I'd like to make a point about this particular home.

When my partner and I first walked into the home, we were both struck by how nicely it was decorated. The decorations were simple, yet trendy. There were just enough pictures and personal items to make it cheerful and welcoming. The paint colors were warm tones, and transitioned nicely from room to room.

We made some suggestions for removing a few furniture items in one of the living areas, and a couple items in another room. The homeowners gladly complied. By our next visit the changes had been made. This home had the look and feel of a model home with all of its charm and style. The home was now set to be marketed. Within a matter of hours we had the home in the database with plenty of pictures to show of its beautiful features.

To us, this was a good example of how important it was for the homeowners to be open to suggestions for storing just a few of their items to open up one of their living areas. They were very open and cooperative.

It's hard sometimes as a Realtor to make suggestions like this to homeowners. We never want to make any homeowner feel as though their personal taste or personal items are unimportant or unnecessary. But when working to sell a home, homeowners and Realtors need to work together to make the home appealing to the general public from all walks of life, and with various tastes and opinions. When this occurs, efforts to market the home are much more likely to be successful.
